What images work best with ImgToSheet.app?
Straight-on, well-lit images cropped close to the table work best. ImgToSheet.app accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and PDF, and reads screenshots, phone photos, scans and PDF pages. Large photos are shrunk in your browser before upload.
Can ImgToSheet.app convert a PDF to Excel?
Yes. Choose or drop a PDF and ImgToSheet.app opens it in your browser; tap the page with the table and it becomes an editable sheet you can download as Excel or CSV. Scanned and digital PDFs both work, and each page you convert counts as one of your 10 free conversions a day. PDF to Excel.
What if my photo is sideways or upside down?
ImgToSheet.app checks which way the text faces and turns sideways or upside-down photos upright before reading them. In a test on 8–9 October 2026, a sideways phone photo of a 22-row printed report was read with 0 of 242 cells wrong after turning, against 18 to 67 wrong cells when it was read sideways. See the full test results.
Does ImgToSheet.app keep my images?
No. ImgToSheet.app holds each image in memory only while converting it, and never saves it to disk, a database or its logs. To read the table, ImgToSheet.app sends the image to Anthropic's Claude API; Anthropic's published policy (checked October 2026) is to delete API data within 30 days and not to use it to train AI models. See every step your image takes.
Can ImgToSheet.app read more than one table in an image?
Yes. ImgToSheet.app detects each table in the image separately. Each table gets its own tab on the page and its own sheet in the Excel file.
How does ImgToSheet.app handle merged cells?
ImgToSheet.app puts the value of a merged cell in the first cell of the merged area and leaves the rest blank, so you can adjust them before exporting.
Does ImgToSheet.app keep numbers as numbers in Excel?
Yes. In ImgToSheet.app's Excel download, plain numbers such as 1234.5 or 1,250.00 become real numbers you can sum, and they keep the decimals and separators shown in the image. Codes with leading zeros (00123), currencies, percentages and dates stay exactly as written, as text.
How accurate is ImgToSheet.app?
In ImgToSheet.app's own tests in October 2026, a screenshot of a 25-cell budget table and a sideways phone photo of a 242-cell printed report were both read with no wrong cells. ImgToSheet.app shows your image beside the table, so you can confirm any cell at a glance and fix it in place before you download. See the full test results.
